Sandals Royal Plantation Resort – Ocho Rios, Jamaica

I have visited this resort several times, the most recent was about 3 yrs ago. I love how intimate & lush the resort is. Boutique & small yet it offers all the amenities of a larger resort. Romance oozes out of every inch of this resort form morning to night. Peacocks roam the grounds and the lush vegetation makes for fantastic pictures. Swim out rooms & sumptuous accommodations really made me swoon…
I love that the rooms are all butler suites & all ocean view – offering stunning sunset views from each room. The food was prepared and presented beautifully & each wait staff were very attentive & service was exceptional! Every staff member I saw was happy to help & greeted you with a warm & welcoming Jamaica smile. If I were able to recommend a resort for romance – I would have to say Sandals Royal Plantation!

Sailing the Windward Islands in the Caribbean on the Royal Clipper
At days end the Captain would point the bow towards the sunset and sail off towards the next port. It was a ‘pinch me’ experience listening to the Classical music and watching the crew raise 42 sails while we lounged together on the overwater netting at the bow.

Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort – At the base of the Pitons – St. Lucia

This place BLEW me away! It was gorgeous! VERY upscale, VERY private, VERY modern AND sits at the base in between the Pitons! It is an 18th century sugar cane plantation that has been converted. The property sits on 100 acres and is a quiet, serene property. They have one of the best spas in St Lucia and it features tree house treatment rooms, Amerindian Steam Dome– all in the lush tropical forest at the base of Petit Piton. All rooms have butler service and spectacular views of either the Pitons or the Caribbean Sea. It has a gorgeous beach and a full PADI dive facility onsite. Though they do welcome families as well, it is the perfect getaway for couples in love/honeymooners. This is also that resort where Matt Damon and his wife renewed their vows!

Positano, Amalfi Coast – Southern Italy
Positano is a small fishing village in the middle of the Amalfi Coast of southern Italy. It is built into the hills and the majority of restaurants, cafes and shops hang off the hills with amazing ocean views.
The food and wine is incredible and you can linger over delicious meals while hearing the ocean in the background.
This is a truly magical place that we will definitely return to.

Romantic Road – Germany
Follow the Romantic Road and your heart, finding unspoiled nature, picturesque towns with city walls, towers, and half-timbered houses, hidden monasteries, medieval castles, and romantic hotels.
This 261 mile long scenic route makes the journey your reward. Germany’s natural beauty and historic cities have everything to offer romantics. In some places art and nature mingle adding to the sense of romance and acting as a powerful draw for couples.
The Romantic Road used to be a major trade route during the Middle Ages, and is alive today with plenty of old world charm: Dine in romantic courtyard restaurants, stroll through lush parks, take in historical castles, and explore the old town centres that have lost nothing of their original splendor. All the while driving alongside beautiful vineyards, clear waters, and rolling hills, until you reach the majestic Bavarian Alps. The destination of your trip is the romantic fairy tale castle Neuschwanstein, nestled in the Bavarian mountains.

Bongani Mountain Lodge – South Africa
Bongani Mountain Lodge is just outside Kruger National Park and on top of a hill. It is a very small lodge and we were the only ones there. It was so quiet at night you could hear the animals. You could not walk from lodge or rooms in little separate units, without a guard who carries a rifle, as animals do go through the camp/lodge grounds at night.
One drive we did late into the afternoon, stopped out in the middle of game reserve. After dark they had wine, champagne, cheese and crackers for us, all laid out on a blanket on a huge rock area. We could hear the elephants in the near by bushes. It was simply magical. It was so quiet, no one talked, we just sat and enjoyed as the sky lit up with stars. When we returned to our lodge, they had prepared the bath tubs, which were about 4 feet deep and huge, they had candles all around, and fresh flowers in the tub….. Amazing experience!

Club Med Columbus Isle – Bahamas
I loved Club Med Columbus Isle in the Bahamas’ San Salvador Island.
The gorgeous walking beach in a remote setting, the turquoise waters, the beautiful sunsets every evening, the inclusive snorkelling to beautiful reefs and the amazing diving! The food and entertainment was wonderful and the rooms had gorgeous views of the ocean. You feel like you have an island to yourself. Bike rides off the resort and not to mention seeing where Christopher Columbus landed on 12 October 1492.

Cap Juluca Resort – Anguilla

The most romantic trip my husband and I took was to Anguilla on our Anniversary.
Peace, pampering, great food, and a wonderful local music scene are among the star attractions on Anguilla (pronounced ang-gwill-a). The small Island has one of the best beaches in the Caribbean and beach lovers are amazed by its blindingly white sand and lustrous blue-and-aquamarine waters which are intoxicating. If you like sophisticated cuisine served in casually elegant open-air settings, this may be your culinary destination.
We stayed at the beautiful Cap Juluca resort with beautiful oceanfront rooms, huge balconies, outside showers and beach butlers. At this resort, EVERYONE is treated like a celebrity.
We dined at their restaurant, Pimms which overlooks the Caribbean Sea. Here is where you will see the most beautiful sunset and stars you will probably see in your life.

Sandals Royal Bahamian – Bahamas
My most romantic spot is in Nassau at the Sandals Royal Bahamian….on their private offshore island!
You feel like it’s your private island with secluded loungers along a secluded stretch of sand. At the Club there is a beautiful pool with double loungers to cozy up on and the best restaurant for lunch ever!! With the best conch chowder and grouper sandwiches in the Caribbean…simply the Best!

Cruising on the Bosphora – Istanbul
In Istanbul, cruising on the Bosphora with Europe on one side and Asia on the other looking at all the beautiful mansions is extraordinary….and extraordinarily romantic. You can also stop at the Topkapi palace for a delicious lunch and see the treasures of the museum.

Thailand Sunset

Krabi, Thailand
The most romantic place my partner and I travelled is to Krabi, Thailand. We walked along the most beautiful white sand beach with gorgeous clear turquoise water. We then had a couples massage on the beach as the sun was setting. It was absolutely breath taking. No matter how many pictures that I took I just couldn’t even begin the capture the beauty.
